Olivia Noseda (Jeffrey, OL 2016)

Hello from Olivia in the Swiss Alps!
Switzerland
Switzerland

In 2016, after finishing school at Lauriston, Olivia Jeffrey moved to the Gold Coast, where she pursued a Bachelor of Sports Management at Bond University. From a young age, Lauriston’s support of her athletic and academic pursuits helped shape her as an individual. She moved to the Sunshine State to be able to merge her love of the outdoors with her educational goals. It was there that she met her husband, Alessandro.

Upon graduation, the job market was stagnant due to Covid, so she pivoted and spent two years working in construction, which offered unique experiences, like radioing in a two-meter snake on a job site in the outback. Soon after, Olivia and Alessandro moved to Zug, Switzerland, where she worked in fashion, sporting goods, and ultimately transitioned into the early learning sector, where she now teaches at a Preschool - a role she deeply cherishes.

Reflecting on her high school years, Olivia treasures the friendships made but regrets not staying in touch as the year flew by. Now, she values surrounding herself with inspiring people who support personal growth, and she aspires to continue building meaningful relationships in both her personal and professional life.

Over the years, Olivia has learned that life’s chapters shape who we are. Be joyous in the life you create - it can be contagious to be optimistic. She aspires to continue growing both professionally and personally, embracing new opportunities. Looking back at her time at Lauriston, she particularly values her year at Howqua, where teachers encouraged all students to embrace their individuality and grow, she also appreciated their focus on teamwork. She vividly remembers engaging discussions on the trails and adventures in the surrounding landscape, which inspires her current love of hiking always with trail mix tucked in my rucksack (sunflower seeds and chocolate a must!) and a sense of adventure.
