Our Lauriston Community

Support the
Heart of Howqua

All funds raised through the Susan Just Appeal will go directly towards the creation of a new kitchen and dining hall at Howqua: the heart and hub of Howqua. This transformative renovation will have an immediate and lasting impact, providing a functional space where students and staff come together to connect, reflect, nourish, and grow.
Howqua began over 30 years ago thanks to the philanthropic spirit of the Lauriston community, and it is this same spirit that will bring the next chapter to life. In honour of Principal Susan Just’s 15 years of visionary leadership, we invite you to support a project that reflects her belief in courage, opportunity, and personal development, the values that lie at the very core of the Howqua experience.
Join us in building the Heart of Howqua and help us celebrate Susan Just’s remarkable legacy in a way that will benefit Lauriston girls for generations to come. All gifts over $2 are fully tax-deductible.

Core values

It is our mission to inspire Lauriston girls to be courageous lifelong learners. They are ethical and compassionate young women who seek to resolve new-world problems and strive to be responsible, global citizens working with others to shape their world.

Learning programs at Lauriston Girls’ School are based around the School’s five core values:

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung, the Boonwurrung and the Taungurung peoples of the Kulin Nations, whose sovereignty was never ceded, and pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and future, for they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hopes of First Nations Peoples. We also recognise their continuing connection to Country and culture.

Diversity & inclusion statement

We acknowledge that our community is diverse; and Lauriston values an inclusive and accepting environment for all ages, genders, abilities, races, religions, sexualities and cultures.
